10U EMW Boys Travel Team Wins Tournament
The 10U Boys Travel Team defeated Lou Gehrig, 12-8, to win the championship at the
Matthewson-McCarthy Tournament this past weekend (7/17-18)! We are so proud of the
boys!

EMW Boys Travel team Tryouts
DATES: Aug. 12 & 15 2010
TIME: 8/12 6:30PM - 8PM, 8/15 10am - Noon
PLACE: CREEK ROAD TOWN PARK
Equipment required: GLOVE (bat and helmet are optional)
PLEASE DRESS APPROPRIATELY FOR THE TRYOUT (NO JEANS, Cleats preferred)
ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:
Example: Born on 5/10/2000 – On 4/30/2011 this player is still 10 years old AND is eligible;
this player turns 11 on 5/10/2011
Example: Born on 3/1/2001 – On 4/30/2011 this player is still 10 years old AND is eligible
TRYOUT EXPECTATIONS:
Boys trying out for this team are expected to know/display the following skills and have a
strong desire to play in this program:
· Proper hitting, fielding, catching & throwing techniques
· Positive attitude, team player
· Knowledge of the game
10U TRAVEL TEAM OBLIGATIONS:
This team will be playing in the 2011 Southtowns Travel League against teams from Orchard
Park, Springville, Eden and other local towns.
· The selected travel team players must be committed to an off season practice
schedule, which may include winter league and/or clinics
· The 10U Travel Team will play in three (or more) tournaments (typically scheduled in
July)
· Fundraising may be required to assist with additional team expenses such as winter
leagues, batting cage time, etc
Player specific skills or training sessions will be the obligation of parent/player and will not
come from the general funds of the team.
Costs for 10U Travel:
· Travel Registration - $100
This is in addition to house registration fee
Additional funds, fundraising or sponsors money may be needed for clinics, tournaments,
batting cages time, etc.
All 10U travel players must be part of the house program, no outside players are allowed
