The
Board of Directors is happy to share some exciting news for the EMW Baseball
& Softball community. In the Spring of 2011 the board applied for several
grants and in June we were notified that one of our applications was accepted.
Through the generosity of the Brighter Future Philanthropic Fund at the
Community Foundation for Greater Buffalo the league was able to secure a $15,000
grant. The application was submitted with a narrative explaining how we would use the funds to improve our fields at Creek Road, specifically what we refer to as the ‘back fields’. The board emphasized safety of the players and field improvements. Upon receiving the money the board quickly set out to complete the necessary improvements prior to the winter months so we can use the fields with the upcoming 2012 season. Through the help of Brian Kulbacki at Kulback’s Construction the fields were dug out, graded, repositioned and set into place. In early, fall the fencing went up and we are happy to say the new fields should be ready to go for 2012.
What to expect: The previously positioned Minor Girls field was repositioned and now faces the back parking lot. This field has been completely redesigned and will have a new backstop along with fencing down each baseline. A new multi-use field was placed where the ‘old black top slab’ was. This new field can be used for several different age groups and will provide great flexibility to the league. This field also has a new backstop and fencing along each baseline.
We hope you enjoy the new fields. If you have any feedback let us know at: info@emwbaseball.org New Field Repositioned Back Field![]() ![]() Catch ya at the creek |
