EMW 11U Boys Travel Wins 3rd in a row

The EMW 11U Boys Travel team ran their current win streak up to 3 games by sweeping a double header against
NCAAA (North Cheektowaga) Sunday at the Creek Road Park.

The first game was a slugfest with EMW coming out on top 11-9.
Kyle Osborne went 3 for 4 and scored three runs.
Jared Nycz also went 3 for 4 and scored twice. Kyle Reid and Ben Simon both had 4 RBI. Erik Zimmerman
drove in a run and scored.
Nick Nosbisch had two RBI.
After swapping early leads, EMW was down by three runs after four innings. EMW rallied with six runs in the fifth
inning to take the lead for good. EMW started the inning with five straight hits.
Jadon Franklin, Jared Nycz, Ben
Simon and Gabriel Franklin
all singled before Joey Cirocco tripled to drive in three runs. Erik Zimmerman then
drove in Cirocco to cap the six run outburst.
The EMW pitching team of Reid, Simon and Osborne combined to allow only two walks for the game.

The second game started out as a pitching battle.
Jared Nycz opened the game by pitching 2 perfect innings.  
Mathew Sokolski took the mound and pitched a perfect third inning. NCAAA got one run in the forth inning before
Kyle Reid came in and pitched a perfect fifth and sixth inning to seal the victory for EMW. Combined the pitching
staff threw five perfect innings and allowed only three hits, one run and zero walks.
After a slow start the EMW bats came alive in the bottom of the fourth inning.
Mathew Sokolski started the rally
with a sharp single up the middle.
Joey Cirocco followed with a single to right. After an EMW strike out, Jadon
Franklin
knocked in both Sokolski and Cirocco with a double to the gap in right-center field. Ben Simon continued
the rally by singling in Franklin to give EMW a three run lead. EMW expanded their lead by two more in the fifth.  
After singles by
Kyle Osborne and Kyle Reid, Mathew Sokolski drove both runners in to give EMW a 6-1 lead.

Game notes; on the day
Kyle Osborne reached base safely 6 of 7 plate appearances. Jadon Franklin continued
his impressive hitting streak. Opposing pitchers have yet to register a strike out against Jadon in 25 plate
appearances this season. Kyle Reid pitched 4 innings striking out five batters and allowed only one hit and one
earned run.
