Baseball Travel Program Update

EMW Welcomes East Aurora Players for 2019 Travel Season

We are excited to announce an enhanced partnership with East Aurora Baseball for the 2019 Travel Season. The two programs already work together in our house league for both Softball and older Baseball Divisions. With our small communities, this partnership allows us to provide a fun and enriching experience for as many players as possible.

With this travel partnership we will look to expand this effort in our 9U-13U travel divisions. We will pool our resources to provide more opportunities for competitive play to more players in our communities. Both leagues will maintain their independent house programs and East Aurora players will be required to continue playing for the East Aurora house league.

Our current EMW coaches will continue to lead our travel program and work with East Aurora coaches and other volunteers to form additional teams wherever tryout numbers make this possible. These additional teams will allow us to provide additional coaching, skill development and play opportunities to more players.

This season will be a pilot program for both our leagues. We will solidify plans at each age level as tryouts are held, skills are evaluated and additional coaches are chosen. Our focus will be on including as many players as possible, developing skills and and creating a fun and enriching experience for our players.

At the completion of tryouts, current and prospective coaches will make recommendations for these development teams and participation costs will be estimated. We anticipate these teams will include a strong focus on practices with scrimmages, games and potentially tournament opportunities next Spring/Summer. Every effort will be made to keep costs reasonable for our developmental teams to encourage participation.

We estimate this merger will bring 4-5 players from East Aurora at each age bracket, leaving plenty of room for new recruits from both EMW and East Aurora leagues. Players interested in trying out for a team will find dates and contact information on the EMW Baseball website. More information will be provided when tryouts are complete.

Interested 14U - 16U players are welcome to try out for older teams as well and should reach out to individual coaches or their respective league for additional information.

We will continue working with the East Aurora Program to find additional areas of cooperation including Travel Softball opportunities and additional inter-league play in our Baseball Divisions.
